Imogen's Letter Quest
A downloadable game
Inspired by my 3yr old daughters complaints whilst playing Yoshi's Island 2 where she "kept falling down the holes" and kept asking "what am i doing?". Felt like it was a good opportunity to stretch my legs in regards to ACTUALLY making a game and not just assets.
So I grabbed a tilemap (which I will replace once core mechanics are flush) and went at it.
The objective of the game is that there will be:
- Several levels, with increasing difficulity in terms of traversal AND the words
- A multitude of words to "collect" and discover, encouraging exploration of vocabulary for kids (for the older gamers, think of the "Collect SKATE in Tony Hawk Games".
- The words positions will be randomly placed within the levels
- Due to the nature of the game, expansion and replayability in theory could be endless.
- The main character is Imogen, though I haven't figured out the sprite for that yet!
A basic Alpha preview is shown below ... but I expect to have much MUCH more once the core mechanic is prepared!
